In December of 2025, Miami University hosted the Fall 2025 ESC Collegiate Championship.
In December of 2025, Miami University hosted the Fall 2025 ESC Collegiate Championship.
As an MUXR Lab Technician, I was tasked with coordinating elements of the event such as load-in and broadcasting setup, screens production, and live camera operations. I was also tasked with ensuring event & stream stability to ensure the audience at home wouldn't miss a single moment of gameplay.
As an MUXR Lab Technician, I was tasked with coordinating elements of the event such as load-in and broadcasting setup, screens production, and live camera operations. I was also tasked with ensuring event & stream stability to ensure the audience at home wouldn't miss a single moment of gameplay.
To accomplish these tasks, I proactively communicated with MU Esports leadership in pre-event setup, operated Stream deck control surfaces created for the event using Bitfocus Companion, and monitored our live broadcast on Twitch to ensure consistent and lag-free viewing.
To accomplish these tasks, I proactively communicated with MU Esports leadership in pre-event setup, operated Stream deck control surfaces created for the event using Bitfocus Companion, and monitored our live broadcast on Twitch to ensure consistent and lag-free viewing.
After all was said and done, myself and the team at Miami University's MUXR had successfully hosted 6+ traveling esports teams from across the country participating in 100+ matches across 3 game categories with over 200+ attendees in person, with over 100+ unique online viewers across 2 days' worth of championship event programming.
Ultimately, because of the event's success, myself and Miami's MUXR have been given the opportunity to host an upcoming regional esports tournament, coming in February of 2026.
After all was said and done, myself and the team at Miami University's MUXR had successfully hosted 6+ traveling esports teams from across the country participating in 100+ matches across 3 game categories with over 200+ attendees in person, with over 100+ unique online viewers across 2 days' worth of championship event programming.
